Session Abstract – PMWC 2019 Silicon Valley
Session Synopsis: As of today, there is a definite lack of concrete and consistent reimbursement methodologies in support of precision medicine, especially when it comes to genetic testing. It is time to start formulating plans and proposals, and to put a framework or guidelines in place to arrive at a common ground. This panel, with various representatives from across health care includes health care providers, health care system operators, payors, and testing services providers, will kick-start this much needed conversation.

Biography
Dr. Rebecca Sutphen has broad clinical and molecular genetics expertise in conditions affecting both adults and children. She is among the few individuals certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics in clinical genetics, molecular genetics and cytogenetics. Rebecca previously served as director of Clinical Genetics for Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. She is also an experienced researcher in genomics & proteomics and has been funded by the American Cancer Society, the Department of Defense and the National Institutes of Health. Rebecca has received numerous awards and honors, including being named to “Florida’s Super Doctors,” “America’s Top Doctors for Cancer,” and “Best Doctors in America,” as well as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines Panel, which sets the standard-of-care for genetics and familial cancer screening.

Biography
Dr. Jannifer Harper is vice president and chief clinical officer, Anthem National Accounts, Anthem Inc. In this role, she is responsible for developing and delivering ANA clinical strategy for large national customers as well as leading ANA clinical operations and clinical product implementation functions for over seven million lives. Prior to Joining Anthem, Dr. Harper served as Florida Blue’s vice president and chief medical officer where she was responsible for the development of the overarching clinical strategy for Florida Blue and leading clinical activities including care management, health promotions and wellness, pharmacy, quality, and clinical retail health initiatives. Dr. Harper has also held leadership roles as regional vice president, national medical director for Anthem/WellPoint; chief of medicine, Kaiser Permanente; vice president and regional medical director, CIGNA; medical director, the Medical Group of Ohio and Ohio Health Group; vice president and associate chief of medical officer of University Hospitals Case Medical Center of Cleveland; and, clinical assistant professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree. Dr. Harper is a member of the American Association of Physician Leadership, the American College of Physicians, the CWRU School of Medicine Alumni Board, and the Georgia Chapter of the American Lung Association Board of Directors. She is board certified in internal medicine and holds a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) designation from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.

Biography
Dr. Fisch is the Medical Director of Medical Oncology Programs and Genetics for AIM. He works closely with the executive leadership team to provide clinical expertise for the expansion of the AIM Medical Oncology Solution and for the AIM Genetic Testing Solution. Prior to AIM, Dr. Fisch was a faculty member at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, initially in the Department of Palliative Care and Rehabilitation. He then led the MD Anderson Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) Research Base. He subsequently served as the founding chair of the Department of General Oncology. In this role, Dr. Fisch led a group of clinical faculty involved in clinical and basic research, and the management of patients in community and academic settings. In addition, Dr. Fisch was co-chair of the NCI Symptom Management and Quality of Life Committee from 2007 to 2014. Other national service roles include chairing the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ECOG-ACRIN) Symptom Science and Treatment Toxicity Committee, the SWOG Social Media Working Group, and the first American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Palliative Care in Oncology Symposium.Currently Dr. Fisch is co-chair of the SWOG Symptom Control and Quality of Life Committee and a member of the Medicare Evidence Development & Coverage Advisory Committee (MEDCAC). Dr. Fisch completed his undergraduate, medical school, and internal medicine training at the University of Virginia, and his hematology/oncology fellowship training at Indiana University. He also received his Master’s in Public Health at Indiana University. He is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine, and has been honored by election to fellowship by the professional societies in each of these disciplines.
