While at Stanford he worked on a novel computation diagnostic discovery pipeline, and then co-founded Inflammatix with partners Jonathan Romanowsky and Purvesh Khatri. His proudest professional accomplishment is in gathering a world-class team at Inflammatix to solve the sepsis problem. Dr. Sweeney has published over 50 manuscripts, is an inventor on seven patent applications, and serves on the editorial board of Critical Care Medicine.

Clinical Dx Showcase: Inflammatix
Inflammatix is building ultrarapid diagnostics for acute infections and sepsis that work by ‘reading’ the body’s immune response. Our HostDx™ tests could help physicians decide who needs antibiotics, what downstream diagnostics to order, and what level of care a patient needs, all in under an hour.
