Biography

Anita Nelsen has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 29 years of experience in pharmacogenetic, human and molecular genetics research in roles including bench scientist, manager and function leader. At PAREXEL, she leads a global team of scientists who are recognized thought leaders and influencers in quantitative clinical pharmacology, modeling and simulation, biomarkers and genomic-based drug development to help clients strategically leverage and seamlessly integrate technologies across all phases of development. Prior to joining PAREXEL in 2015, Anita was Director, Head, Genetic Sample & Data Sciences at GSK. In this role, she led a global team to enable pharmacogenetics in global clinical studies and to manage and deliver genetic samples and data supporting drug discovery and development. Anita is actively engaged in professional organizations including the Industry Pharmacogenomics Working Group (I-PWG) which she chaired from 2011-2012.
