Session Abstract – PMWC 2017 Silicon Valley
Session Synopsis: While Precision Medicine is starting to deliver on some of its promise, hurdles still remain. Viewing interpreted genomic data within the context of a patient’s clinical record is challenging enough, but how do we add meaningful information into the existing workflow to inform a provider when a genetic test makes sense for their patient? And how do we make it easy to ingest the interpreted results to lead to better informed treatment decisions? In this session we will hear from a panel of industry leaders on the clinical, technical, organizational and political barriers that exist in the clinical enablement of precision medicine.

Biography
Assaf Halevy, Founder & CEO of 2bPrecise, brings extensive experience and deep insight into the development of emerging healthcare technologies. He leads a select team focused on assessing market potential of genomics and precision medicine solutions that promise to impact care delivery and patient outcomes. Assaf joined Allscripts in 2013 as SVP of Business Development when the company acquired dbMotion, the foremost clinical integration/population health management platform in the industry today.

Biography
Holli Hutcheson Dilks joined Sarah Cannon in 2014 as the Director of Personalized Medicine Operations. She is responsible for providing scientific support and direction for the development and implementation of Sarah Cannon’s global Molecular Profiling/Personalized Medicine Initiative. Additionally, she is responsible for the development of biomarker strategies in support of disease area programs and individual clinical trials. Previously, Dilks served as Technical Director of the Vanderbilt Technologies for Advanced Genomics Core Resource and Director of Core Resources at the Center for Human Genetics Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also served as a faculty member at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy and a Program Director for SRI International. Dilks received her B.A. from Lipscomb University, her Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University, and performed her postdoctoral Cancer Research Training Award fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NIH). During her fellowship, she served as a visiting scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. In addition to her role at Sarah Cannon, Dilks currently serves as an Adjoint Assistant Professor for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy.

Biography
John has dedicated his career to improving the health of all communities through clinical practice, public policy and health information technology. He has had extensive clinical practice in both fee-for-service (Scripps Clinic) and integrated care (Kaiser Permanente), led the largest civilian deployment of an EHR in the US, and co-founded the XML standard for interoperability (CDA, CCDA, CCD). He served on numerous policy committees at state, federal (FACA), and international levels, and is active globally as a keynote speaker and consultant in Health IT Policy. He currently co-chairs the eHealth Workgroup of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), and is a senior advisor to the X-Prize for the Tricorder, and for the Rock Health incubator for digital startups. He has published extensively, including “Perspectives” in Nature Medicine, and written book chapters on issues as diverse as ‘Privacy and Genomics’, ‘Innovation and IOT’, and ‘Future Roles in Healthcare’. He has received various national awards for his work and is a vocal advocate for person-centered care and patient engagement.

Biography
Dr. Joel Diamond, Allscripts 2bPrecise Chief Medical Officer, has extensive clinical and technology experience. He formerly served as CMIO and chairman of the Physician Advisory Board at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, where he helped achieve 100 percent adoption of CPOE in a community hospital. This is one of the first such successes in the United States. He helped develop dbMotion, a solution for health information exchange and population health and later became the Chief Medical Officer for Population Health at Allscripts Healthcare. Dr. Diamond currently serves as an adjunct associate professor of biomedical informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians while continuing to care for patients at Handelsman Family Practice in Pittsburgh, PA.

Biography
Dr. Urban serves at the Director of Medical Affairs for The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Center. Dr. Urban is Director of the Neonatal Bereavement Program for the Division of Newborn Medicine and sits on the clinical advisory board of the Pennsylvania Preemie Network. Dr. Urban earned her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in NY. She completed her pediatric residency at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY and then went on to complete a fellowship neonatology at UPMC, where she stayed on to join the faculty in 2010. During her fellowship she earned a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. In Aug 2014 Dr. Urban became the Clinical Director of Interoperability for UPMC and a Clinical Advisor at UPMC Enterprises. She is passionate about making data actionable at the point of care and creating workflows that breakdown information silos and lead to better patient outcomes. Dr. Urban is a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics.
