Biography
Dr. Nikole Kimes is Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Siolta Therapeutics, a San Francisco-based biotech company leading the development of novel microbiome-focused precision strategies for the identification, prevention and treatment of inflammatory diseases. Nikole’s training in environmental and human microbial ecology, supported by a National Science Foundation Fellowship and as a postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Lynch at the University of California San Francisco, has provided her the foundation from which the translational research program at Siolta Therapeutics has developed. Her efforts at Siolta leverage microbiota data to improve patient stratification and develop microbial therapeutics to reengineer microbiome composition and metabolic function in the gastrointestinal tract for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory disease.
