Biography
Barry A. Bunin, Ph.D. is the CEO of Collaborative Drug Discovery, creators of CDD Vault for both commercial and neglected disease SAR data collaborations. Prior to CDD, Dr. Bunin was an Entrepreneur in Residence with Eli Lilly & Co. Dr. Bunin is on a patent for Kyprolis™ (carfilzomib) for Injection, a proteasome inhibitor for multiple myeloma. Dr. Bunin was the founding CEO of Libraria. On the technical side, he co-authored “Chemoinformatics: Theory, Practice, and Products” and “The Combinatorial Index”, a widely used text on high-throughput chemical synthesis. Dr. Bunin did medicinal chemistry at Axys Pharmaceuticals and Genentech and received his Ph.D. from Berkeley. BerBerkeley synthesizing the initial 1,4-benzodiazepine libraries with Professor Jonathan Ellman.

Aggregating and integrating large amount of data generated at different medical centers will help advance basic disease research and will add to the understanding of effective therapeutic approaches. Building and maintaining a platform and data warehouse that enables researchers to access the data is a prerequisite to advance health care.
