Biography

Clifford A. Reid is a founder and Executive Chairman of Genos Research, a startup company that is creating a marketplace for genomics research. Previously he founded Complete Genomics, a human genome DNA sequencing company, where he served as Chairman and CEO from its inception in 2005 through its IPO in 2010 and its acquisition by BGI-Shenzhen in 2013. Prior to Complete Genomics, Dr. Reid founded Eloquent, Inc., a digital video communications company, where he served as Chairman and CEO from its inception in 1995 through its IPO in 2000 and acquisition in 2003. Prior to Eloquent, Dr. Reid founded Verity, Inc., an enterprise search engine company. He served as its Vice President of Engineering from its inception in 1988 to 1993. Dr. Reid received a S.B. in Physics from MIT, an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
