Biography

Tim Collins is Corporate Vice President of Operations and Research, and is responsible for the clinical operations of the Scripps Proton Therapy Center. Tim joined Scripps Health in November 2006 as the Chief Operations Executive for Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, a 138-bed hospital, and later served as Chief Operations Executive for Scripps Green Hospital. In 2010 Tim assumed the role of Corporate Vice President of Operations, responsible for all system-wide support services for the organization’s five hospitals and outpatient locations. Tim came to Scripps with more than 17 years of health care systems experience. Tim is a graduate of University of Southern California where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Care Administration. Tim is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician, and is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in interdisciplinary and organizational leadership.

Session Abstract – PMWC 2017 Silicon Valley

Session Synopsis: This session focuses on community oncologists in their quest to integrate and embrace precision oncology – a very relevant topic given that 80% of oncology care in the US takes place in the community setting. We will hear from a community oncologist and a health care administrator about how they overcome struggles to solidify a process for institutional engagement while incorporating precision oncology into practice.
