Biography
The Ideker Laboratory’s goal is to develop an artificially intelligent model of the cell able to translate a patient’s data into precision diagnosis and treatment. We seek to advance this goal by developing better network representations of the cell and using these networks to translate genotype to phenotype. Ultimately, creating hierarchical cell models able to integrate patient data to predict disease outcomes in response to specific therapies, with a particular focus on personalized cancer therapeutics. Trey Ideker, PhD is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego. He is Director of the National Resource for Network Biology and the Cancer Cell Map Initiative, Adjunct Professor of Computer Science and Bioengineering, and Member of UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. Ideker received degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and his PhD from the University of Washington in Molecular Biology under the supervision of Dr. Leroy Hood.
