Healthcare on FHIR: Innovation in Data Exchange & Analytics
HL7 FHIR is changing the way health data is shared, archived, repurposed and analyzed. FHIR provides a secure, simplified exchange platform that functions much like the internet. It ensures that implementers and app developers can innovate in an accessible, easily understood environment. FHIR has been deployed for clinical care, regulated research, population health, and integration of unique datasets, including genomics. All Federal agencies delivering healthcare have announced their support, including CMS, CDC, VA and FDA. Recently, Apple® announced the integration of FHIR into the HealthKit®. FHIR is implemented in over 2000 systems on 5 continents. Most importantly, FHIR is free.
