Biography

Dr. De La Vega is a geneticist and computational biologist with interests in clinical and population genomics. He is Senior Vice President of Genomics at Fabric Genomics, a company enabling precision medicine through AI-driven clinical genomic insights, and Adjunct Professor on the Department of Biomedical Data Science of the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. De La Vega spent over a decade at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies developing several successful genetic analysis products. He has more recently contributed to start-up companies focused on bringing genomics into healthcare. Dr. De La Vega has participated in several breakthrough international projects such as the 1000 Genomes Project, the Genome-in-a-Bottle Consortium, and the International Cancer Genome Consortium. He has co-authored more than 100 scientific publications, including papers in top journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics, Science, Genome Research, and others, receiving over 20,000 citations.
